Thoracic committee

The Thoracic Committee of ESOT was founded in 2006 as a separate section within ESOT to support and represent the Heart and Lung Transplant community in Europe. A close collaboration is established with the European Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ESHLT). The aim of the thoracic committee is to group all people interested in heart and lung transplantation under the umbrella of ESOT to share common interest and benefit from the organizational and financial support for educational activities. No membership fee other than ESOT membership is required to participate in the activities organized by the Thoracic Committee. A successful postgraduate course and state of the art session has been conducted by the Thoracic Committee during the previous biannual meeting in Prague in 2007. The Committee will participate in the European Donor Surgery Masterclass to offer training in thoracic organ procurement. Several members of the committee participate as lecturers in the Hesperis Course organised by ESOT.
