Education committee

ESOT is offering a wide program of courses for postgraduate training in organ transplantation. The education activities of ESOT are available for both clinicians and basic scientists. The program is structured in a system with advanced training activities varying from a complete overview of the entire field of transplantation (e.g. Hesperis Course) to more specialized training in specific aspects of transplantation (e.g. European Donor Surgery Masterclass).

ESOT Education Committee (EC) is dedicated to develop, expand and execute the education programs provided, supported and/or sponsored by ESOT.

The responsibilities of the EC include the following issues:
  1. To coordinate all ESOT education activities.
  2. To initiate new education activities.
  3. To define guidelines for all ESOT labeled education activities regarding application to courses,
number of participants, recruitment modalities, countries involved, program contents and proposed lecturers,
course budget and financial dealings as well as all other matters of importance.
  4. To play a central role in examination and certification.
  5. To take all measures deemed of importance for ESOT education activities.
  6. To publish at least twice a year a serial Newsletter reporting on all topics of interest for education purposes.
