EPITA

Introduction

The European Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association was founded in 2007 as a section of ESOT. The aims of EPITA are to provide a forum for the pancreas and islet transplantation community in Europe and to contribute to the development of this field and of alternate forms of beta-cell replacement therapy for the benefit of patients suffering from diabetes throughout Europe. The founding of EPITA was materialized by a successful pre-transplant symposium on the occasion of the 2007 Congress of ESOT in Prague. As EPITA is taking off and pancreas and islet transplantation gain visibility in the ESOT educational programs, we invite you to join this dynamic new section of your society and contribute to its growth.

In January of 2011 EPITA and AIDPIT co-organized their first Joint Winter Symposium in Innsbruck/Igls, Austria. The symposium was a great success with over 100 registered participants and offered top quality scientific lectures in a friendly environment and relaxed atmosphere.

EPITA membership is available to all ESOT members in good standing and is gained at no additional fee by registering on the ESOT website.
