The Transplant Library
The Transplant Library of Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) aims to provide high quality, evidence-based information on all aspects of solid organ transplantation for the transplantation community. The library contains all RCTs in organ transplantation from 1970 to the present (over 6000 references). References mostly come from electronic databases such as MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library (with permission) but the library also contains nearly 3000 references to abstracts of RCTs in conference proceedings. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of good quality will be added later this year. The library has been made available to ESOT members and can be accessed on the OvidSP platform through the member avenue.
Features of the Library include:
- A simple and intuitive search interface on the OvidSP platform, allowing rapid and comprehensive searches on focused topics without any professional search skills
- The search interface includes unique limits specific to organ transplantation to make searching even faster and more effective
- Studies published from 2004 onwards have been given a methodological quality rating which helps users assess their potential value
- The library is updated every two weeks, keeping users abreast of newly reported RCTs
You can access the Transplant Library through the Members Section of the ESOT website using your member User name and Password. Alternatively, please contact your librarian to find out whether your institution has access to the Transplant Library.
